August 1, 2025

New Hayden Lake Brochure Now Available!

We’re excited to introduce our new Hayden Lake brochure—your guide to enjoying the lake responsibly while staying safe and informed. The brochure features a detailed bathymetric map of Hayden Lake and helpful information for recreational users.

Learn about boating safety, including key laws, etiquette, and tips for preventing spills and protecting both the lake and our community. With strong support from the Kootenai County Marine Patrol, safety on the water is always a priority.

For anglers, the brochure provides guidance on local fishing regulations and directs readers to the Idaho Fishing Planner and official season and rules resources.

Explore the stunning natural surroundings of the watershed, 60% of which lies within National Forest land. While trails and campsites are limited, hikers are encouraged to experience these wild spaces with care and respect for their own safety and the well-being of local wildlife and plants.

The brochure also highlights the threat of invasive species, explaining how non-native plants and animals can disrupt ecosystems, harm water quality, affect recreation, and impact drinking and irrigation supplies.

Finally, you’ll find community resources to help you stay informed and engaged in protecting Hayden Lake.

Pick up the new brochure and discover how you can enjoy Hayden Lake while helping preserve one of our community’s most treasured natural places.
