Common site disturbance violations include inadequate sediment and erosion controls, unpermitted land clearing, improper stormwater management, uncontrolled drainage, and unauthorized grading or excavation activities. These violations can lead to environmental degradation, sediment runoff into water bodies, increased flood risks, and damage to neighboring properties.

I wanted to send a quick update to let you know we are 99% complete on the Hayden Lake OH/UG conversion project. Avista’s main distribution feed to the south side of Hayden Lake is now fed through underground cable from the location where the feed to Hayden Lake leaves the main OH feeder trunk at 15th street up to the pole location near the intersection of Hayden Lake and Upper Hayden Lake roads. All told, about 2700’ of 3-ph overhead line was removed, which I expect will have a very positive impact on the overall reliability for the customers in this area. Note that I say we are 99% complete because we will have some ground cleanup to do in the spring when things dry out, and still have a single pole that we need to access after the ground freezes up again in order to remove our old crossarms.

Our bi-monthly newsletter will keep you up to date on HLWA meetings and initiatives. We partner with other community groups around the watershed to have a voice in the decisions our regulatory agencies are contemplating and will publish the agency meeting times and locations.
